Cowan Insurance Group is seeking a dedicated Disability Case Manager to join our growing team. Reporting to the Manager of Return to Health - Wellness & Disability Solutions, you will play a vital role in managing short-term disability and accommodation claims for our valued clients.

As a Disability Case Manager, you'll be responsible for proactively overseeing claims, ensuring timely and professional service delivery. You'll leverage our proprietary disability program, COLO, to implement a holistic approach to case management, collaborating with various stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Thoroughly review medical, functional, employment, and contractual information for new and ongoing claims to determine eligibility for benefits in accordance with client policies.
  • Proactively manage claims by identifying cost-effective measures to support employees' recovery and facilitate their return to work.
  • Effectively communicate decisions (approvals or declines) to all relevant parties in a clear and concise manner.
  • Maintain regular professional contact with clients regarding employee claim status updates.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive case management plans, including implementing return-to-work programs and workplace accommodations.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to inquiries from claimants, employers, physicians, legal representatives, and internal business partners.
  • Ensure all case management notes and records are accurately documented and maintained.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues and communicate clearly and professionally within the team.
Your Qualifications:
