About the Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and organized Medical Support Assistant to join our team at St. Boniface Hospital in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will provide clerical and patient-related support to the nursing unit, including scheduling appointments, preparing examining rooms, assisting patients, and performing receptionist duties.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Schedule appointments and consults for patients
  • Prepare examining rooms and assist patients as needed
  • Perform receptionist duties, including answering phones and responding to inquiries
  • Assist in the Records Area with chart preparation and supply ordering
  • Process physicians' orders and perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements and Qualifications

  • 6 months experience in a nursing unit or completion of the St. Boniface Hospital Ward Clerk Training Program
  • Grade 12 or equivalent education
  • Knowledge of computer systems and ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
  • Ability to retain confidential information and possess good interpersonal communication skills
  • Adaptability to stressful situations and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Physical capability to assist patients in wheelchairs

Benefits

This position offers a competitive salary range of $44,138 - $56,928 per annum, based on a 0.67 FTE (67% of full-time) schedule. The estimated annual salary is approximately $49,200, based on an hourly wage of $23.29. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision coverage, as well as access to a pension plan and employee assistance program.
