Overview
The Winnipeg Regional Health Authority is seeking a skilled Medical Office Coordinator to join their team. As a Medical Office Coordinator, you will play a vital role in providing administrative support to the healthcare team.

About the Role
Reporting to the Manager, Health Services, or Nurse In-Charge, you will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to receive patients to clinic/unit and ensure accurate documentation is completed. You will act as a communication link for the unit, answering telephone calls, determining urgency, and forwarding calls or taking and relaying messages. Additionally, you will obtain, assemble, and maintain charts, transcribe physicians' orders, schedule appointments/tests for patients, and obtain test results. Your duties may also include performing various tasks for patient care and comfort, preparing payroll information for the area, maintaining clinic/unit supplies, compiling statistical information, and other miscellaneous duties as required.

Requirements
- Previous related work experience is preferred.
- Familiarity with current hospital-based information systems/programs, including scheduling systems/programs, is an asset.

Education
- A complete high school education, Manitoba standards, is required.
- Successful completion of a recognized Unit Clerk training program is mandatory.
- Medical terminology (75% pass mark) is required.

Skills and Qualifications
- Typing/keyboarding skills minimum 40 wpm are required.
- Excellent command of the English language (both oral and written) is essential.
- Ability to organize, manage time, and prioritize workload is necessary.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, seeking assistance as needed, is crucial.
- Ability to communicate effectively and recognize/pursue self-development opportunities is required.
- Ability to operate information technology equipment, such as fax machines, photocopiers, computers, etc., is necessary.
- Preference will be given to candidates competent in an Aboriginal language and/or knowledgeable in Aboriginal customs, beliefs, and practices.

Salary Information
The salary for this position ranges from $$43,790.00 to $51,174.00 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
