Director of Partnerships Strategy

Join the WNBA Toronto Team as we embark on a historic journey to bring professional women's basketball to Canada. We're seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Partnerships Strategy to drive our sponsorship strategy and foster a culture of excellence both on and off the court.

Job Summary:

The Director of Partnerships Strategy will be responsible for developing and executing innovative partnership strategies to drive revenue growth and enhance the team's brand visibility. This role involves working closely with key stakeholders, including corporate partners, sponsors, and community organizations, to create and manage high-impact partnerships that align with the team's goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement comprehensive partnership strategies to achieve revenue targets and enhance brand positioning.
  • Identify and pursue new partnership opportunities, including corporate sponsorships, community engagements, and strategic alliances.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with current and potential partners.
  • Oversee the negotiation, execution, and management of partnership agreements to ensure mutual success and satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to deliver on partnership commitments and ensure alignment with overall team objectives.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive insights that can inform partnership strategies.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of partnerships and adjust strategies as needed to optimize outcomes.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Sports Management, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years proven experience in partnership development, sponsorship management, or business development, preferably in the sports or entertainment industry.
  • Strong understanding of partnership strategies, contract negotiations, and revenue generation.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical skills and the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Proven leadership abilities and experience managing a team.
