Job Description

Toronto Community Housing Corp. is seeking a Senior Community Development Strategist to join our team.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and innovative professional to lead our community development initiatives, focusing on building strong relationships with tenants, community partners, and stakeholders. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of developing and implementing effective strategies that promote community engagement, social inclusion, and economic opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement comprehensive community development plans that address the needs of Toronto's diverse communities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with tenants, community organizations, and city agencies to advance our mission and goals.
  • Liaise with various stakeholders, including government officials, community leaders, and external partners to foster collaboration and support for our initiatives.
  • Conduct research and analysis to identify trends, challenges, and opportunities in community development, and provide recommendations for strategic action.
  • Lead and manage cross-functional teams to develop and implement programs, services, and events that promote community engagement, social inclusion, and economic opportunities.
  • Provide technical expertise and support to staff, partners, and stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of community development initiatives.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of community development programs and services, and make recommendations for improvement.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Social Work, Urban Planning, Public Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in community development, social services, or a related field, with a focus on program management, community engagement, and stakeholder relations.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing effective community development strategies that promote social inclusion, economic opportunities, and community engagement.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and project management skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, including tenants, community organizations, and city agencies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to conduct research, analyze data, and provide recommendations for strategic action.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a high level of flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.

  • A competitive salary of $120,000 - $150,000 per annum, commensurate with experience.
