Senior Nuclear Estimator and Proposal Manager

Job Overview
This role is responsible for preparing comprehensive construction estimates, proposal submissions, and documentation for major nuclear construction and maintenance projects. As a key member of our team, you'll work closely with senior management, operations personnel, business development teams, and project stakeholders to deliver high-quality proposals that meet client requirements.
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage construction cost estimates, proposal submissions, and execution strategies for various types of nuclear projects
- Collaborate with a team of estimators and support personnel to produce detailed cost estimates, proposals, and P6 schedules
- Review and comment on customer RFP documents, drawings, specifications, and contracts
- Develop strategic and competitive construction approaches for each proposal
- Identify potential project risks and implement necessary precautions to manage exposure
- Work with Operations, Project personnel, Business Development, and Senior Management to ensure seamless collaboration
- Utilize estimating software to organize estimates per internal guidelines and customer requirements
- Review and approve estimates and resource requirements developed by estimators for each discipline
- Prepare project schedules, resource loading, productivity assessments, and cash flows
- Create technical, commercial, marketing, and promotional documents
- Chair proposal initiation, status, and approval meetings with Senior Management
- Present proposal details to Senior Management for required approvals
- Present awarded proposal information and estimate details to the Project Team members
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients, consultants, and subcontractors
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of experience in the nuclear and/or industrial construction industry
- Strong estimating background on large capital or industrial construction projects
- Project Management experience and/or field experience on large construction projects
- Understanding of both design/build and build-to-specification approaches
- Strong understanding of contract language, legal terms, and conditions
- Exceptional leadership and organizational skills
- Strong communication skills – oral and written
- Common sense with strong attention to detail
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings
- Self-assured, resourceful, and responsible attitude
- Knowledge of AACE guidelines and estimating concepts
- Familiar with unionized trade agreements and wage schedules
- P. Eng., CET, or equivalent industry experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft applications, Primavera P6, and/or construction estimating software
- Ability to work in a multi-discipline team environment including vendors, subcontractors, and clients
