About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Advanced Technical Lead - Nuclear Systems to join our team at ATS Automation. In this critical role, you will be responsible for driving technical excellence in the design and development of custom machinery, systems, and equipment for the nuclear industry.

Job Description
  • Technical Leadership
    • Provide technical guidance and oversight to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
    • Lead cross-functional teams to develop and implement innovative solutions to complex technical challenges.
  • Design and Development
    • Collaborate with engineers and designers to develop and implement system-level designs and solutions.
    • Develop and maintain detailed engineering documentation, including specifications, diagrams, and test plans.
  • Risk Management
    • Identify and mitigate technical risks throughout the project lifecycle.
    • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to ensure successful project delivery.
Requirements
  • A post-secondary degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Systems Design, Electrical, or Computer Engineering, Engineering Physics, Engineering Science, or equivalent.
  • Ten years of experience in engineering design, development, and qualification of custom machinery, systems, or equipment.
  • Five years of experience in nuclear tooling and equipment development and testing, preferably including field support and experience.
  • Thorough understanding of machine design and build, machine controls, structured problem solving, statistical analysis, and precision engineering principles.
  • Good written and oral communication skills and ability to lead or work as part of a multi-disciplinary project team.
