Event Supervisor Opportunity

Banff & Lake Louise Tourism is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Event Supervisor to join our team for the upcoming winter season. As a key member of our events team, you will be responsible for leading a team of event staff and ensuring the successful execution of our Christmas and SnowDays events.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the Manager, Events, to develop and implement the overall event plan, including logistics and event elements.
  • Foster a positive and enjoyable on-site experience for event staff and guests.
  • Supervise event staff to ensure effective execution of the event plan.
  • Oversee event operations, including event staff shift rotation, daily site setup/teardown, guest registration, and special event activities.
  • Ensure accurate and efficient on-site surveying by event staff.
  • Provide regular reports to the Manager, Events, and third-party production contractors.
  • Stay up-to-date on relevant destination information to communicate with event staff and guests.
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety protocols and adhere to all Town of Banff and Parks Canada special event policies and permit requirements.
Requirements:
  • Experience in a supervisory role is required.
  • Experience managing event sites is an asset.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various winter weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift items such as fire pits, tables, and sign frames.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on executing the event as planned.
  • Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills.
  • Problem-solving skills with the ability to think quickly under pressure.
  • Willingness to work irregular hours, weekends, and/or statutory holidays.
