About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Sous Chef to join our team at Fresh Prep, a leading meal kit delivery service in Western Canada. As a Sous Chef, you will be responsible for leading our new Kitchen Team in processing, prepping, cooking, plating, and packaging a variety of Ready to Eat products for direct-to-consumer delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee production in our dedicated Hot and Cold Kitchen operations, ensuring high-quality products and efficient operations.
  • Manage the Kitchen's labour, grocery, and supplies budget performance under a weekly rotating menu schedule.
  • Be accountable for all product quality, taste, presentation, and on-time order fulfillment within a CFIA-registered facility.
  • Ensure the kitchen operates in compliance with provincial and federal health and safety codes.
  • Collaborate with the Purchasing and Warehouse teams to ensure the right quality and quantity of ingredients are available to meet customer orders.

Requirements:

  • Culinary Diploma or Culinary Red Seal required.
  • 5 years of experience supervising productivity, efficiency, and process improvement in a commercial kitchen setting.
  • 5 years of experience liaising with purchasing, quality assurance, and human resource departments.
  • A problem-solving mentality and strong communication skills.
