About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Drywall Installation Specialist to join our team at Grandview Drywall Ltd. As a key member of our installation team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality drywall installations for our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clean and Prepare Surfaces: Ensure all surfaces are clean, dry, and free of debris before installing drywall.
  • Apply Joint Compound: Fill joints, nail indentations, holes, and cracks with joint compound using a trowel and broad knife.
  • Finish Corners and Angles: Create decorative designs in the finish coat, if required.
  • Measure, Cut, and Install Drywall Sheets: Measure, cut, and install drywall sheets to ensure a precise fit.
  • Tape Over Joints: Use a taping machine to tape over joints and embed tape in compound.
  • Install Corner Beads and Wire Mesh: Install corner beads and wire mesh around beams to which plaster is to be applied.
  • Prepare Wall and Ceiling Layouts: Ensure wall and ceiling layouts are accurate and meet client specifications.
  • Erect and Install Scaffolding: Erect and install scaffolding, falsework, and other working platforms as required.
Work Environment

As a Drywall Installation Specialist, you will work in a fast-paced environment with varying work sites and locations. You will be required to work outdoors and in dusty conditions.

Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in drywall installation.
  • Physical Demands: Physically demanding work requiring repetitive tasks and overtime.
  • Weight Handling: Ability to lift up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs).
  • Personal Suitability: Judgement, team player, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
