About the Role

Gill Drywall Ltd. is seeking a skilled Drywall Installation Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our installation crew, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality drywall installations for our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and joints to achieve a smooth finish.
  • Fully inspect and prepare surfaces for drywall installation, including filling joints, nail indentations, holes, and cracks with joint compound.
  • Measure, cut, fit, and install drywall sheets to meet project specifications.
  • Position and secure drywall sheets to metal or wooden studs or joists, ensuring a secure and level installation.
  • Smooth out excess compound and allow coats to dry, ensuring a seamless finish.
  • Tape over joints using a taping machine and embed tape in compound to create a strong bond.
Work Environment

As a Drywall Installation Specialist, you will work in a fast-paced environment with varying temperatures, humidity levels, and noise levels. You will be required to work at heights, handle heavy loads, and stand for extended periods.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in drywall installation or a related trade is an asset.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively with colleagues and clients.
  • Physical stamina to perform tasks that require bending, crouching, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
