Build a Safer Future with Lindsay Construction
We're seeking a highly skilled Safety Advisor to join our team at Lindsay Construction. As a key member of our safety department, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the well-being of our employees and the success of our projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with applicable legislation within Atlantic Canada
- Promote a strong safety culture both onsite and in office
- Provide expert insight into our health and safety program to drive continuous improvement
- Conduct safety training and maintain safety training records
- Conduct comprehensive hazard assessments and formal site inspections
- Participate in recording monthly safety statistics
- Implement, enforce, monitor, and update site-specific health and safety plans
- Deliver site-specific safety orientations and ensure personnel undergo orientation before entering the site
- Maintain site-specific logs of inspections, meetings, infractions, and mitigating measures
- Assist with maintenance of our quality management system
- Collaborate with the safety department on various business development initiatives
Requirements:
- 5+ years of safety experience within the construction industry
- CHSC or CRSP designation, or similar
- Knowledge of current legislation and regulations within Atlantic Canada
- Knowledge of safe work practices required for execution work and operation of equipment
- Knowledge of preventative maintenance programs for construction site equipment
- Working knowledge of the MS Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to lead and work with minimal supervision
- Valid driver's license
