Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Construction Safety Specialist to join our team at Lindsay Construction. As a key member of our safety department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health and well-being of our employees and the communities we serve.

About the Role

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced safety professional to lead and contribute to our safety initiatives. You will be responsible for implementing and enforcing our health and safety policies, procedures, and programs across all construction sites in Atlantic Canada.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and regulations in Atlantic Canada
  • Promote a strong safety culture through regular site visits and interactions with employees and contractors
  • Develop and implement effective safety training programs to ensure employees have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their jobs safely
  • Conduct comprehensive hazard assessments and inspections to identify potential risks and take corrective action
  • Collaborate with senior personnel and other departments to drive business development initiatives and improve our quality management system
  • Participate in recording monthly safety statistics and providing insights to inform data-driven decision-making
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in a safety role within the construction industry
  • CHSC or CRSP designation, or similar certification
  • Demonstrated knowledge of current legislation and regulations in Atlantic Canada
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision and lead by example
  • Possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Valid driver's license required
