About the Role:


This Casual Relief position offers a unique opportunity for a skilled dietitian to provide expert nutrition advice and support across various healthcare settings.



Key Responsibilities:



  • Provide leadership in nutrition care, collaborating with healthcare teams to promote patient well-being and prevent malnutrition.
  • Employ evidence-based practice, staying up-to-date with the latest research and guidelines.
  • Share expertise with multidisciplinary teams, ensuring seamless care delivery and supporting a range of healthcare services within a holistic framework.


Requirements:



  • Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition from a recognized University.
  • Dietetic Internship Program required.
  • Current registration (or eligibility) with the Nova Scotia College of Dietitians and Nutritionists required.
  • Prior experience as a dietitian preferred, with clinical nutrition experience an asset.
  • Competency in dysphagia management, enteral and parenteral nutrition.
  • Excellent communication skills, with ability to counsel patients effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office computer applications and WHMIS certification an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within interprofessional teams.
  • Fluency in multiple languages an asset.


Working Conditions:



  • Casual Relief / 3% FTE.
  • Shiftwork / Call / Rotation / etc.


Compensation: $38.21 - $49.27 Hourly, 11% in lieu of benefits and vacation.
