About the Opportunity

The Nutrition Services Manager, Sydney Area supports the Director of Nutrition and Food Services to ensure effective delivery of Nutrition & Food Services. The Manager plans, organizes, and controls operations and day-to-day management of NFS in Sydney area.

Reporting to the Director, Nutrition and Food Services (NFS), Eastern Zone, the successful candidate will champion integration of nutrition care and food service, providing nutrition care services to patients, residents, and clients in institutional, ambulatory, and community settings.

The Manager will collaborate on provincial initiatives and standards such as the implementation of the Nova Scotia Health Healthy Eating Policy at applicable sites and work as part of the NFS leadership team to develop and implement new initiatives.

With a strong background in food and human nutrition, the Manager is responsible for implementing nutrition care standards, monitoring clinical dietetic performance, managing the nutritional component of NFS, and maintaining professional competency and skills required for practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implementing nutrition care standards and ensuring compliance with therapeutic nutrition requirements and restrictions
  • Maintaining safety, quality, and clinical/nutrition care standards for positive patient, resident, and client outcomes
  • Collaborating with healthcare teams to address patient medical needs
Requirements

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual with:

  • Bachelor's degree in Nutrition and Dietetics
  • Completion of an accredited dietetic internship program
  • Membership in a professional association, such as Dietitians of Canada
  • Five years' progressive management experience in healthcare as a dietitian
  • Experience in scope of practice for dietitians, dietetic technicians, and food service supervisors and managers
  • Ability to interpret statistical data and monitor quality and performance indicators
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
Compensation and Benefits

$40.15 - $53.34 per hour

Nova Scotia Health offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.

Successful candidates may be eligible for a signing bonus and relocation assistance.
