Dietitian - Nutrition Specialist (Designated)

The Dietitian is responsible for providing competent, safe, and ethical professional practice to patients, families, and communities. This role advises on diet and food and nutrition across all health sectors, leading team efforts to support patient nutritional health through health promotion, disease prevention, treatment, support, and rehabilitation.
As a member of the interprofessional team, the Dietitian contributes to client care through collaboration with healthcare providers, sharing nutrition expertise, ensuring quality and continuity of care, and supporting a range of healthcare services within a holistic, client-centered framework.

To be successful in this role, you will have a Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition from a recognized University, a Dietetic Internship Program, and current registration (or eligibility) with the Nova Scotia College of Dietitians and Nutritionists. A minimum of one year of working experience as a dietitian is preferred, along with inpatient clinical nutrition experience, competency in dysphagia management, enteral and parenteral nutrition, and experience counseling patients.
You will also demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office computer applications, effective interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to prioritize, problem solve, and work under pressure, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively as a member of the interprofessional healthcare team.
