At the BC Cancer Foundation, we are seeking a highly skilled and organized Donor Engagement Officer to support and contribute to the development and execution of a comprehensive donor engagement plan. This critical role will be responsible for managing projects and coordinating donor stewardship activities across the Foundation, including a focus on process improvement for donor reporting.

  1. Provide program coordination and project management support for all initiatives in the donor engagement team, ensuring that deliverables and activities are assigned and progress is monitored.
  2. Facilitate the creation of impact reporting, with qualitative and quantitative reporting to donors, in partnership with internal teams.
  3. Assess current donor reporting processes, identifying opportunities for improvement and executing process changes.
  4. Coordinate and collaborate with relevant Foundation team members and BC Cancer staff to ensure they are clear on deliverables, responsibilities, and timelines.
  5. Work in tandem with fundraisers to support donor relationship management via face-to-face, virtual, telephone, and written interactions.
  6. Update leaders on progress, status, and at-risk initiatives.
  7. Identify and administer appropriate recognition opportunities for our donors and provide the teams with tools, guidance, and support, in partnership with our fundraising teams.
  8. Manage, implement, and execute physical recognition initiatives and projects for all BC Cancer sites, including plaques, naming opportunities, and donor walls.
  9. Review project and event budgets, expenditures, analyze variances, and initiate corrective actions.
  10. Develop and write communications for donor relations materials, such as donor recognition plaques, thank-you letters, invitations, and scripts.
  11. Support and implement event components for donor recognition and cultivation events, as well as provide on-site leadership at donor events (including digital and in-person components).
  12. Contribute to the innovation of programs and projects to thank and steward donors, identifying creative and effective opportunities to recognize the impact of corporate and individual support.
  13. Provide cultivation and stewardship direction and guidance to members of the Foundation in relation to individual donors and prospects.
  14. Build strong working relationships with team members, vendors, donors, physicians, hospital, and research staff.
