About the Role

The Manager, Donor Services and Gift Processing is a key member of our team at BC Children's Hospital Foundation. This role is responsible for leading our Donor Services team, ensuring that every donation provided to our Foundation is processed accurately and tax receipted in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to the Donor Services team, ensuring that all team members are equipped to deliver exceptional results.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Donor Services team, ensuring that all team deliverables are complete accurately and within expected timelines.
  • Ensure that all donor details, gift, and financial information are accurate, secured, and stored in compliance with current regulations.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures as needed to maintain compliance and ensure team members are educated on tax receipting policies.
  • Oversee the reconciliation of transactions in the Foundation database with the Accounting system's general ledger to support accurate reporting on financial statements.
  • Lead year-end external audit processes as they relate to revenue systems.
  • Develop, manage, and monitor the DS department's annual budget.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting or database management, with a strong background in financial acumen and data analysis.
  • Excellent digital literacy and experience working with multiple information systems, including Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT or other database experience.
  • Strong knowledge of CRA, PCI, Privacy regulations, and policy.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of Lean and Human Centered Design methodologies and techniques.
  • A proven track record of effectively inspiring, coaching, and mentoring a team.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential/sensitive material with discretion.
