About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Senior Event Coordinator to join our team at KPMG Canada. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the management of conference events.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and manage a team of 4 employees dedicated to coordinating events at the conference center.
  • Lead daily service meetings with the team to ensure all tasks are assigned and goals are met.
  • Hire temporary staff (agency) for certain events.
  • Manage the American Express card, including closing accounts and tracking expenses.
  • Accurately track and manage alcohol-related transactions.
  • Ensure all transactions are properly recorded and billed in accordance with company policies.
Budget Management

You will be responsible for managing the event budget, ensuring that all expenses are tracked and recorded accurately. This includes supervising billing and cost tracking related to alcohol during events.

Event Management

In addition to budget management, you will also be responsible for coordinating operations during events to ensure quality service. This includes performing quality checks to maintain high standards, supervising staff and coordinating activities during events to ensure smooth running of meetings and events.

Customer Request Management

You will be the direct link to the customer for their requests and manage the budget associated with the request. This includes assisting customers in their choices of snacks, drinks, and other materials, as well as writing the technical sheet for the internal team.

Requirements
  • Prior experience in managing a conference center is required.
  • A strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high quality standards is essential.
  • Flexibility and ability to work under pressure in a high-volume environment is necessary.

Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is $65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision insurance, as well as a 401(k) retirement plan.
