About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Internationalization Program Manager to build the foundations of our internationalization function and deliver on our global expansion strategy. As an Internationalization Program Manager, you will play a key role in creating key partnerships that will help support our global expansion efforts by ensuring our products are i18n compliant from inception and our language experiences culturally and linguistically tailored to diverse markets from the product development stage.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Stakeholder Mapping and Partnership Building

Map out key stakeholders from Partner & Traveler Products, Engineering, Design, and Marketing teams to understand the current state and ecosystem and build strategic partnerships to apply a holistic approach to internationalization.

Internationalization Audit and Roadmap Development

Perform audits of current internationalization libraries and translation pipelines to establish a clear baseline of the current state and define the ideal state.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product Management, Engineering, Design, and Marketing, to integrate internationalization requirements into product roadmaps and development cycles.

Internationalization Enablement

Liaise with the BEX team to ensure we can deliver on our UAE expansion from an i18n perspective, as BEX currently does not support bi-directional text or ICU Syntax consistently across apps.

GenAI and Automation

Lead GenAI efforts related to i18n through testing GPT-4 and GitHub co-pilot's ability to automate scanning and fixing of i18n issues.

i18n Analytics and Reporting

Improve our i18n analytics reporting through revamping our current Tableau dashboard and ensure automatic surfacing of data in both Localization and Quality Platform teams dashboards.

Global Readiness Scorecard

Work with key partners on designing and building a Global Readiness Scorecard to help us understand the readiness level of our products and ensure we are always i18n compliant from a Dev and Design standpoint.

Figma Connector and Pseudo-Localization

Lead efforts in testing and integrating Figma connector in XTM to enable agility at the design and dev stages and advocate for pseudo-localization practice and adoption.

Internationalization Expertise and Training

Serve as a subject matter expert on internationalization best practices, standards, and tools, and provide guidance and training to internal teams through advocacy programs.

Internationalization Roadmap and Market Research

Build and present internationalization roadmaps and present results to stakeholders during business reviews, tech, and XD sync-ups.

Competitive Analysis and User Experience

Conduct market research and competitive analysis for internationalization in order to identify opportunities and challenges in target markets and provide insights to allow a better local user experience.

Requirements
  1. Education

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as International Business, Linguistics, or Computer Science, required; Master's degree preferred.

Project Management Certification

PMP or equivalent project management certification preferred.

Internationalization Experience

Proven experience managing internationalization or localization projects in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment, preferably within the travel industry.

Internationalization Knowledge

Good understanding of internationalization concepts, standards, and best practices, with hands-on experience implementing them in software or digital products.

Program Management Skills

Strong program management skills, good business acumen, and adaptability, strategic thinking, and effective task prioritization to deliver results in a dynamic and evolving environment.

Communication and Collaboration

Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.

Technical Skills

Proficiency in multiple programming languages, such as Python, VueJS framework, Java, Rails framework, or PHP, is a plus.

International SEO and Digital Marketing

Experience with international SEO, SEM, or digital marketing is desirable.
