Job Summary

The Compensation and Classification Specialist provides technical and administrative support services to the Work Design and Compensation team at Fraser Health. This role involves reviewing job descriptions, recommending classification levels, and assisting in the development and maintenance of Compensation/Classification databases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provides job classification and evaluation support to the Compensation and Classification team
  • Prepares, reviews, and revises job descriptions in accordance with established practices and procedures
  • Administers the applicable classification system and processes job description and classification grievances files
  • Implements compensation changes resulting from collective agreements and classification adjustments
  • Liaises with payroll and finance staff and attends to related problems and queries
  • Supports Client Partners in preparation for third-party interventions and grievances
  • Conducts in-depth job audits and research, benchmarking, costing, and analysis
  • Develops and maintains Standard Operating Procedures for various systems and processes
  • Ensures data integrity within Compensation and HR databases

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a Diploma in Human Resource Management and three years' recent, related compensation/job evaluation experience in a multi-union healthcare environment. Proficiency in computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheet, and graphics programs, as well as expertise in database programs, is required.
