Compensation and Work Design Specialist

As a key member of the Fraser Health team, the Compensation and Work Design Specialist plays a vital role in supporting the organization's vision, values, and purpose. This position is responsible for providing consultation on compensation and work design issues, including organization redesigns and related short and long-term impacts. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of collective agreements, legislation, and policies related to compensation and work design.
Key Responsibilities
- Consult with managers, directors, and other clients on compensation and work design issues to assist them in meeting strategic and operational goals.
- Provide advice and guidance on the interpretation and administration of collective agreements, local agreements, legislation, and policies related to compensation.
- Develop and evaluate excluded jobs within Fraser Health, providing advice to clients on job design and classification.
- Approve job classifications for included jobs and submit to the respective union on behalf of Fraser Health.
- Negotiate and resolve classification grievances on behalf of Fraser Health, including identifying resolve options and determining costs associated with various resolve options.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Management or a related field, plus five to seven years of recent, related experience in human resources, including job classification experience within a unionized environment.
- Proficiency in the use of office software applications and principles of job design and job classification.
- Ability to maintain active networks with resources in health care organizations across BC and Canada to stay current on new trends.
