About the Role

The Regional Vice President, Business Development is a key leadership position responsible for driving business growth and development in the region. This role requires a strategic thinker with exceptional leadership skills to lead the acquisition of experienced advisors and meet predefined targets for growth of the region's assets under administration.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and execute strategic recruitment priorities, business plans, and objectives to drive growth and acquisition of experienced advisors in the region.
  2. Lead the end-to-end advisor recruitment journey, from networking and recruiting, through the due diligence process, deal development and approval, and onboarding process up to Day 1.
  3. Build and develop key strategic alliances with Regional Directors, Branch Managers, and key stakeholders within Wealth Management to support the identification and recruitment and onboarding of experienced advisors.
  4. Develop and leverage key external resources, including Centres of Influence (COI) network, for external business referrals and develop a visible community profile for Scotia Wealth Management & ScotiaMcLeod to support recruitment efforts.
  5. Understand and adhere to Scotiabank's risk appetite and risk culture in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  6. Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of the respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct, and the Global Sales Principles.
  7. Champion a high-performance environment and contribute to an inclusive work environment.
Requirements
  1. University degree or equivalent relevant work experience.
  2. Expert knowledge of the wealth management advisory industry and factors that influence it.
  3. Exceptional wealth advisory business development and leadership skills with 10+ years of experience at a senior level within the industry.
  4. Well-developed network of relationships with senior internal and external stakeholders, Centres of Influence, and business alliances to identify and grow the business.
  5. Strong knowledge of the regulatory environment applicable to the investment management industry.
  6. Proven track record of performance excellence meeting targets and objectives while providing exceptional customer service.
  7. Ability to recognize and interpret business opportunities and recommend solutions.
