**Duties**:

- The Opportunity:
- At McElhanney, we care; about each other, our clients, and our communities. We are driven by our grit, passion, and perseverance and we rally behind safety, respect, and inclusion for all. With our core values acting as our guiding principles in every decision that we make, our executive leaders show up each day to lead our firm with purpose driven direction, and our people with support and care.- Who we are, and how we act matters to us. We know that women are under-represented in the engineering profession, in Canada and elsewhere, and we are committed to ensuring McElhanney recognizes the contribution women can make in leadership roles.- What You’ll Be Doing:
- Working closely with our President & CEO, Vice Presidents, and other Executive Committee Members, you will contribute to the planning and execution of McElhanney’s strategic direction by bringing market awareness and insights to the executive table. As a leader who prioritizes communication, you find ways to bring back relevant information that energizes, inspires, and guides the direction of your regional teams. At every level, you are known as the inspirational leader who encourages collaborative relationships, growth, and development. The results of your efforts leave a lasting positive reputation with our clients, communities, and partners.- Who You Are: A Leader, a Strategic Partner, and an Achiever.- As a Leader, you prioritize a people-centered approach which results in a responsive workforce and the culmination of an environment where staff show up to work feeling empowered every day. Your instinctive ability to lead with empathy is powerful - you hear the unvoiced questions, you anticipate the need, and you find the right words and the right tone. Your words leave a lasting impression, and they are critical to our success as you find ways to continually motivate, engage, and strengthen your people. Your teams need your leadership, they believe in it, and they are confident that you will lead with the vision to get there.- You foster relationships and keep your finger on the pulse by spending time with each regional office on a regular basis.
- You regularly communicate with managers and promote a sense of united participation in, and commitment to, the organization.
- You participate in the recruitment, performance management, and succession planning of personnel. You provide direction, mentoring, and coaching to a very capable team of professionals.
- You champion professional development by rallying teams to engage with professional associations, internal committees, and external community involvement.
- You foster an environment that values diversity, equity, and inclusion for all.
- As a Strategic Partner, you see opportunities where others see complexity. You envision the future, and you inspire your team to see it with you. You actively participate in Executive Committee meetings where you contribute to shaping the future of our company. You bridge the connection between the Executive Committee, our Business Support Services Team, and the branches you oversee. You know that two-way communication is key to making transformations happen, which is why you find ways to connect key insights to different layers of your team.- You work with market sector, technical service group, and branch leaders to develop, execute, and continually adjust a multiyear strategy that is aligned with strategic objectives which meet Key Performance Indicators across McElhanney’s four cornerstones of People & Communities, Clients & Partners, Processes & Technology, and Financial.
- You work closely with managers of regional branches in an advisory capacity to set clear goals, create plans to achieve milestones, and improve branch performance.
- You work with other Executive Committee members to identify and pursue strategic hires and acquisition opportunities that are aligned with the company purpose, values and goals.
- You meet with branch managers regularly to review, track, adjust, and report regional progress.
