We are seeking a skilled Social Worker to join our team at Nova Scotia Health and IWK Health. As a member of our multi-disciplinary team, you will provide comprehensive services to adults with mental health/addiction disorders who fit within our established target population.
Your responsibilities will include conducting comprehensive assessments, treatment planning, and provision of professional clinical services for patients/clients who are living with complex mental health disorders and/or concurrent disorder(s).
About YouWe are looking for a candidate with a Bachelor's degree in Social Work, with a specialization in a clinical or mental health stream, and registration with the Nova Scotia College of Social Work. You should have two years of clinical experience in an inpatient/outpatient mental health setting, providing independent assessment and treatment of adult mental health disorders.
Key qualifications include competence in assessment, intervention (individual, family, and group), and research, as well as specialized knowledge of acute and persistent mental illness and concurrent disorders. You should also have knowledge and competence in evidenced-based interventions such as CBT, and risk assessment, as well as evidence of knowledge and ability to complete mental health assessment, diagnosis, and evidence-based treatment using the DSM-5.
Hours and CompensationThis is a long-assignment full-time position, with 75 hours biweekly, approximately 10 months. You will be compensated at a rate of $33.97-$42.89 hourly, and may be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
