Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Project Governance Specialist to join our team at the Bank of Montreal. This role will be responsible for ensuring that project management practices are consistently and effectively implemented across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement project management documentation and guidance, including templates, guidelines, and training materials.
  • Analyze current workflows and routines to identify inefficiencies and propose improvements.
  • Maintain and update process documentation to ensure compliance with organizational standards.
  • Facilitate project management training and development programs.
  • Serve as a liaison for project managers, providing communication and support.
  • Monitor project risk controls and compliance, track risks, and assess their potential impact.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of PMO controls and provide feedback for improvement.
  • Execute Controls Testing, verifying adherence to enterprise and regulatory standards.
Qualifications:
  • Typically between 4 - 6 years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in a related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience in Project Management and Controls Testing in a Financial Institution is preferred.
  • Knowledge of project and risk management methodologies, including waterfall and agile delivery methods.
  • Ability to run data analytics in Excel and extrapolate meaningful analysis.
  • Knowledge of testing methodologies and tools, such as Power BI, ALM, Selenium, and Microsoft products.
  • Strong relationship building skills to work with key stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work independently under tight time constraints with minimal need for oversight and peer review.
