Role Overview
EQ Bank | Equitable Bank is seeking a Senior Director, Financial Governance to join our Commercial department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing governance policies, credit processes, analytics, and training to ensure the Bank's regulatory requirements are met.

About the Role
The Senior Director, Financial Governance will lead the review and analysis of applicable regulatory frameworks and enterprise policies to ensure adequate controls and procedures are in place. This includes collaborating with other departments within EQ Bank | Equitable Bank, as well as Concentra's Trust and Credit Union businesses.

Main Responsibilities
  • Develop and deploy governance policies, credit processes, analytics, and training for the Commercial department.
  • Review and analyze applicable regulatory frameworks and enterprise policies to ensure compliance.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to drive execution and obtain results in a timely manner.
  • Support the Managing Director, Commercial Monitoring, Control and Analytics on various projects to increase efficiency while ensuring critical functions meet regulatory requirements.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to negotiate new procedures and communicate changes to internal stakeholders.

Requirements
  • Minimum 8 years' experience in commercial real estate or related field.
  • Professional designation (CFA, CIA, CPA, CAMS) preferred.
  • Knowledge of banking regulations (CAR, PIPEDA, Bank Act, AML).
  • Experience drafting policy, procedures, standards, and training staff.
  • Ability to translate legislative/regulatory requirements into policy/procedure.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organization and communication skills.
