Job Description:

The Director of the Western Arctic Research Centre is a key position responsible for the long-term planning and development of research programs, partnerships, and logistics services. The incumbent will provide leadership to the Centre's Management Team and employees, guiding the implementation of research and education programming.

The Centre is a regional hub of scientific activity, supporting over 100 external field research programs annually. The Director must provide scientific guidance, logistical planning, and collaboration with a diverse group of scientists and researchers from various backgrounds. This role is accountable for aligning the science program with Aurora College priorities and meeting diverse client and stakeholder requirements.

Key qualifications include a PhD in Natural, Physical, or Environmental Science, five years of research project management experience, and five years of progressive experience in management and supervision of staff. The incumbent must be able to implement research programs in remote locations and possess a breadth and depth of scientific experience to collaborate on multi-disciplinary research projects.

Requirements:

Salary Information:

The salary for this position starts at $58.88 per hour, plus an annual Northern Allowance of $14,661.00.
