**Nasittuq provides Operation & Maintenance services for the North Warning System (NWS). The NWS is a joint Canada and United States early-warning radar system with 47 sites located in Northern Canada; a Control Centre and Support Centre located in North Bay, ON and a Contract Management Office located in Ottawa, ON.**

**SCOPE**:
The Logistician is responsible for the proper management of Government Furnished Equipment and all materials at their Logistics Support Site (LSS) or Long Range Radar Site (LRR).

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Perform inventory control (issue, receive, distribute, and dispose of inventory)
- Handle, package, and label materials for shipment
- Determining method of shipment and arranging shipping using online tools
- Operates material handling equipment and performs manual labour duties, maintains good housekeeping practices
- Managing shelf life
- Shipping dangerous goods
- Coordinate transportation of personnel and trips to LRR and SRR sites
- Loading and unloading of goods from trucks/aircraft
- Unpacking, coding and routing goods to appropriate storage areas
- Maintaining general tidiness and warehouse organization
- Assist in effecting design changes to improve equipment efficiency and/or reducing cost of operation.
- Performs other duties as assigned and/or are transient in nature

**QUALIFICATIONS**:
**EDUCATION**:High School diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience

**CERTIFICATE(S) / LICENSE(S)**:

- A valid driver’s license
- Transportation of Dangerous Goods by air/roads/sea.

**EXPERIENCE**:

- Previous experience working in a high volume inventory control, shipping/receiving, computerized warehouse or distribution facility.
- Experience handling Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) and associated control processes
- Experience/knowledge of custom control points and processes would be an asset

**KNOWLEDGE OF**:
**COMPETENCIES / SKILLS AND ABILITIES**:

- Proficient with** **MS Word and Excel and previous knowledge/use of databases (Maximo)
- Customer service training/skills
- Ability to travel as part of a small team to adjacent sites to perform functions
- Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), as required
- Ability to work under physically demanding, often adverse weather conditions in remote Arctic locations
