Senior Infrastructure Development Manager

The Government of Northwest Territories is seeking a skilled professional to manage the implementation of various capital projects and major operations and maintenance (O&M) projects for the Department of Infrastructure.
This position reports directly to the Regional Manager, Highway Operations, and is responsible for advising on highway maintenance operations with an approximate budget of $3.9 million. The incumbent oversees the construction and general maintenance of Peel River and Arctic Red River ice crossings, ensuring safe movement of goods and services in the region.
As a highly accountable front-line engineering position, this role impacts the public's ability to safely use the highway system and affects the life cycle cost of infrastructure. Failure to meet maintenance objectives can result in reduced infrastructure life cycle and significant capital costs for replacement.
Responsibilities:- Manage capital projects and O&M projects for highways, airports, and marine facilities
- Advise on highway maintenance operations and budgets
- Oversee construction and maintenance of ice crossings
- Ensure safe and efficient movement of goods and services
Requirements:
- Civil Engineering Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology Supervisory Training
- Class #5 NWT Driver's Licence
- Design and construction experience – 4 years for Degree holders, and 8 years for Diploma holders
- Highway Design Experience in AutoCAD Environment
- At least one year of experience supervising staff in a cross-cultural setting
Salary: $85,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
