About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Health and Safety Professional to join our team at KBL Environmental Ltd. in Yellowknife, NT.

Job Description

This is a project-based position that requires spending 50% of time working in the field and 50% in our office. The ideal candidate will have experience in abatement, demolition, and working with hazardous materials, as well as previous experience in the Mining industry.

Responsibilities
  1. Conducting Regular Site Inspections: Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with HSE regulations and company policies.
  2. Developing and Implementing HSE Procedures: Develop and implement HSE procedures, guidelines, and training programs to foster a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.
  3. Providing Guidance and Support: Provide guidance and support to field personnel on hazard identification, risk assessment, and incident investigation.
  4. Collaborating with Project Managers: Collaborate with project managers to integrate HSE requirements into project planning and execution.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Strong Knowledge of Safety Management Systems: Working knowledge of safety management systems and safe work practices.
  • Practical Experience in Training and Coaching: Practical knowledge and experience in training and coaching staff.
  • Broad Understanding of HSE Regulatory Process: A broad understanding of the HSE regulatory process and principles.
  • Strong Ability to Build Relationships: Strong ability to build working relationships and contacts within the organization as well as with external regulators, vendors, and contractors.
