The Government of the Northwest Territories seeks a highly skilled Senior Systems Analyst to provide application development and support services to various users within the Department of Health and Social Services and the Northwest Territories Health and Social Services Authority.


As a senior professional in the unit, the incumbent will have senior responsibility for the accessibility, integrity, problem-solving, and security of assigned application systems. The Senior Systems Analyst will lead and participate in the development, implementation, and maintenance of application systems, ensuring they are reliable, efficient, and meet business needs.


Key responsibilities will include:



  1. Leading the development and implementation of application systems, ensuring they meet business requirements and are delivered on time and within budget.
  2. Providing senior-level support and guidance to junior positions and contractors, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
  3. Collaborating with stakeholders to identify business needs and develop solutions that meet those needs.
  4. Maintaining and upgrading application systems to ensure they remain relevant and effective.
  5. Developing and implementing policies and procedures to ensure the security and integrity of application systems.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in systems analysis and application development, with experience in leading development teams and managing application systems. A post-secondary degree in a related field and 4 years of progressively more responsible related experience are required. Professional certifications in project management, systems analysis, or software development are desirable.
