Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Early Childhood Educator to join our team at the YMCA of Greater Vancouver. As an Infant Toddler Educator, you will play a vital role in providing a safe and engaging environment for children, promoting their cognitive, social, and emotional development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement high-quality programs based on the YMCA Playing to Learn curriculum, tailored to the needs and interests of our youngest learners.
  • Build strong relationships with children, families, and colleagues, fostering a sense of community and belonging.
  • Collaborate with the team to create a supportive and inclusive environment, ensuring the physical and emotional well-being of all children.
  • Provide active supervision and guidance, promoting independence and self-confidence in our children.
  • Communicate effectively with families through our parent communication app, keeping them informed about their child's daily activities and progress.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment, adhering to YMCA, Child Care Facility Licensing, and legal requirements.
Requirements
  • Infant Toddler ECE certification from a recognized program in British Columbia.
  • Special Needs (SNE) Certification is an asset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Any training related to child growth and development is an asset.
  • Emergency First Aid and CPR-C & AED certificate required (can be obtained within 30 days of start date).
  • Three professional reference checks to be completed.
  • A current and satisfactory Criminal Reference Check/Vulnerable Sector Search issued within six months preceding the start date.
