About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Childcare Professional to join our team at KIDSLAND CHILDCARE CENTRE LTD. As an Infant Care Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing a safe and nurturing environment for infants and toddlers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Bathing, Diapering, and Feeding: Ensure the physical needs of infants and toddlers are met, including bathing, diapering, and feeding.
  • Child-Care Program Development: Develop and implement child-care programs that support the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
  • Leading Activities: Lead activities such as storytelling, singing, and taking children on outings to local points of interest.
  • Engaging Children: Engage children in activities such as storytelling, singing, and preparing crafts.
  • Guiding Children: Guide and assist children in developing proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits.
  • Observation and Reporting: Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors.
  • Staff Meetings: Attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with coworkers and community service providers working with children.
  • Environment and Safety: Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children.
  • Program Planning: Plan and organize activities for school-age children in child-care programs before and after regular school hours.
Certifications and Training
  • Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate: Possess a valid Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate.
  • First Aid Certificate: Hold a current First Aid Certificate.
Support for Newcomers and Refugees
  • Settlement Support: Assist with immediate settlement needs of newcomers and/or refugees, including housing, transportation, storage, childcare, and winter clothing.
  • Social and Labour Market Integration: Support the social and labour market integration of newcomers and/or refugees, including facilitating access to community resources, language training, and skills training.
Support for Indigenous People
  • Mentorship and Coaching: Offer mentorship, coaching, and/or networking opportunities for Indigenous workers.
  • Cultural Competency Training: Develop and maintain relationships with indigenous communities, indigenous-owned businesses, and organizations, and provide cultural competency training and/or awareness training to all employees.
