Job Description

At Rogers Communications, we are committed to excellence in all aspects of our business. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manager, Major Gifts and Planned Giving to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for major gifts and planned giving, with a focus on building long-term relationships with donors.
  • Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major gift donors, with a goal of securing gifts of $100,000 or more.
  • Develop and implement a planned giving strategy, including the creation of bequest language and other planned giving vehicles.
  • Work closely with the Director, Philanthropy to develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy.
  • Manage a portfolio of major gift donors and prospects, with a focus on building strong relationships and securing gifts.
  • Collaborate with the Philanthropy team to develop and implement a comprehensive stewardship plan for major gift donors.
  • Develop and implement a strategy for engaging and stewarding planned giving donors, including the creation of a Legacy Circle.
  • Work closely with the Finance team to ensure that all gift transactions are processed effectively and efficiently.
  • Develop and implement a strategy for tracking and reporting on major gift and planned giving efforts.

Requirements:

  • Seven (7+) years of relevant work experience in fundraising, with a focus on major gifts and planned giving.
  • Proven track record of securing gifts of $100,000 or more.
  • Strong experience in strategy development, implementation, and evaluation, as well as budget management.
  • Ability to read and understand financial statements, as well as do calculations and interpret legal concepts.
  • Strong emotional intelligence, including the ability to read people and situations astutely and respond accordingly.
  • Exceptional relationship building skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with donors and cross-functional team members.
  • Strong experience working with cross-functional teams, multiple stakeholders, and a diverse range of people.
  • Entrepreneurially minded, with creative thinking skills and a solution-oriented approach.
  • Exceptional verbal and written English communication skills, with strong presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced environment, managing several initiatives simultaneously.
  • Proficient in fundraising platforms, such as Artez and Classy.
  • Substantial experience with Salesforce, Raiser's Edge, or similar database management systems.
