Senior Manager, Gift Development and Legacy Partnerships

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Manager to join our Philanthropy team at Rogers Sports & Media. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic plans to grow major gifts and planned giving revenue.

About the Role

The Senior Manager, Major Gifts and Planned Giving, will be a key member of our Philanthropy team, reporting to the Director, Philanthropy. The role requires a strong understanding of fundraising principles, as well as exceptional relationship-building and communication skills.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and lead a portfolio of major gift donors through all stages of the donor cycle.
  • Prepare briefing notes, call reports, solicitation proposals, presentations, and other correspondence in collaboration with Donor Relations and Programs.
  • Evaluate and implement strategies for annual, monthly, mid-level, and donor circle programs.
  • Cultivate and solicit individual donors for major gifts.
  • Support the development and execution of organizational priority campaigns and initiatives.
  • Maintain Salesforce database for pipeline management, proposals, gift tracking, agreements, and future actions.
Requirements
  • 7+ years of relevant work experience in fundraising, preferably in the not-for-profit sector.
  • Proven track record of closing gifts at the $100k+ level.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of tax laws, regulations, and compliance issues that govern charitable giving in Canada and globally.
  • Strong emotional intelligence, including the ability to read people and situations astutely and respond accordingly.
  • Exceptional relationship-building skills with donors and cross-functionally.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams, multiple stakeholders, and a diverse section of people from executive corporate leaders to custodians.
