Job Summary

The Human Resources Generalist will report to the Senior Manager, Human Resources and be responsible for administering HR programs, policies, and procedures. This role will serve as the first point of contact for employees and supervisors, providing guidance and advice on HR-related inquiries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain a thorough understanding of the Collective Agreement and apply it to resolve employee-related issues.
  • Assist the Senior Manager, Human Resources in addressing and resolving employee-related issues.
  • Conduct investigations into sensitive issues and provide recommendations for resolution.
  • Administer the Attendance Management Program to ensure consistent application and compliance.
  • Escalate cases to the Senior Manager, HR as needed.
  • Collaborate with operational leaders on non-occupational disability accommodations and leaves of absence.
  • Provide regular follow-ups with employees and updates to supervisors regarding return-to-work processes.
  • Coach and mentor supervisors, offering recommendations and resolutions for employee concerns.
  • Conduct frequent plant visits to meet hourly employees, address issues, and gather feedback.
  • Organize training sessions and employee engagement activities as needed.
  • Conduct exit interviews and compile exit analysis reports for management review.
  • Act as a liaison for employee benefits and payroll inquiries.
  • Provide backup coverage for Health and Safety.
  • Assist with HR audits, employee record-keeping, and timely reporting within HRIS systems.
  • Support the Senior Manager, Human Resources with reporting on location-based KPIs.
  • Lead the recruitment and selection processes for hourly employees.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Certificate in Human Resource Management or equivalent experience in Human Resources.
  • 35+ years of experience in an HR generalist role, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and Kronos.
  • Self-motivated with a strong hands-on work ethic.
