HR Generalist Role

GEODIS is seeking a highly skilled HR Generalist to join our team. As an HR Generalist, you will be responsible for maintaining up-to-date knowledge of employment-related legal legislation and ensuring compliance with government reporting. You will also plan and conduct new employee orientations to foster a positive attitude toward company goals and an effective hand-off to operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintains accurate employee-related records such as new hires, changes in salary, promotions, leaves, and terminations on internal HRIS and benefits portal.
  • Facilitates and documents employee engagement meetings.
  • Responds to employee inquiries of moderate complexity regarding policies, programs, and procedures.
  • Manages non-exempt recruiting activities and exempt recruiting through first-level supervisory roles, including organizing and executing job fairs.
  • Conduct employee investigations and recommend appropriate resolution.
  • Manages leave of absence process, unemployment claims and hearings.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from a 4-year college or university or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 2 years related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • PC literate to include Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Excellent communication skills, written and oral.
  • Excellent critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and co-workers.
