Youth Development Coach

">About the Role:
">We are seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our team as a Youth Development Coach for our local running & reading clubs. As a coach, you will play a vital role in empowering students in grades 1-6 at partner elementary schools to achieve their full potential through mentorship and coaching.
">Key Responsibilities:
">- Facilitate engaging and interactive club sessions that promote physical activity, literacy development, and social emotional learning.
">- Supervise and encourage students during the physical activity component of the program, including warm-up exercises, running workouts, and other fitness activities.
">- Assist with snack distribution and Word of the Day activities, providing opportunities for students to engage with language and build vocabulary.
">- Support students with recording their accomplishments in both running and reading each week, promoting goal-setting and self-reflection.
">- Supervise silent reading time, read one-on-one with children, or lead group reading sessions, providing feedback and guidance as needed.
">- Foster a positive and inclusive environment, working collaboratively with the Club Director and other volunteers to create a safe and supportive space for all participants.
">Qualifications and Requirements:
">- A strong passion for working with children and supporting their development.
">- Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire students to reach their full potential.
">- Valid vulnerable sector check (or willingness to obtain one).
