The successful candidate will have a strong background in diesel engine mechanics, with experience working on commercial transport trucks and equipment. You will be expected to diagnose and repair complex mechanical issues, as well as perform routine maintenance tasks to prevent breakdowns.
As a Heavy Duty Diesel Technician at Coach Atlantic Maritime Bus, you will work in a fast-paced environment with a high level of autonomy. You will be responsible for managing your own workload, prioritizing tasks, and meeting deadlines.
In addition to your technical skills, you will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and customers. A strong commitment to safety and quality is essential, as well as a willingness to continuously learn and improve.
Key Responsibilities- Diagnose and repair complex mechanical issues with diesel engines and associated systems
- Perform routine maintenance tasks to prevent breakdowns and ensure optimal performance
- Inspect and test mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions
- Repair or replace mechanical units or components as needed
- Estimate parts and labor costs for repairs and maintenance
- Provide exceptional customer service and communicate effectively with customers and colleagues
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., diesel mechanics, automotive technology)
- Minimum 3 years of experience working as a heavy duty diesel technician
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, and brakes
- Experience working with computerized diagnostic tools and equipment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with a high level of autonomy
- Strong commitment to safety and quality
- Competitive salary range: $60,000 - $80,000 per year
