About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled BIM Coordinator to join our team at ONxpress Transportation Partners. As a key member of our Integrated Digital Delivery (IDD) team, you will play a critical role in the coordination and implementation of our digital delivery process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and implement the IDD process, including the development of pre- and post-contract IDD strategies and execution plans.
  • Support the IDD Director/IDD Manager or project BIM lead in ensuring the correct activities are assigned to consultant supply chain information managers.
  • Provide coordination reports on the interfaces between engineering disciplines, design, and construction, through the IDD process.
  • Coordinate and develop the design-to-construction process through IDD, ensuring consideration and optimization of opportunities for sustainability, digital engineering, buildability, carbon, logistics, industrialization, and health and safety.
  • Run IDD tools training workshops to enable people to deliver their responsibilities in relation to the ONxpress IDD strategy.
  • Facilitate the start-up and implementation of the IDD process on a project level, with the assistance, guidance, and oversight of the project IDD or BIM lead and ONxpress IDD Director.
  • Coordinate with project managers and construction managers to develop a project-specific process for utilizing or creating 3D information for estimating, logistics, planning, scheduling, coordination, field layout, and/or facilities management.
  • Facilitate consultant and trades through multiple project phases with digital logistics construction management processes.
  • Assist in the creation of project-specific contract language for tender packages for 3D submission processes and 3D as-builts for facilities management.
  • Obtain quotes from vendors and outsourcing resources to meet requirements for newly awarded construction projects.
  • Review, coordinate, and manage the creation of project information models.
  • Deploy project software, organize, maintain, and set up CAD exchange environments, provide basic training and support for project teams, and coordinate assistance, file conversions, and document processes and solutions for reuse.
  • Champion 3D coordination on active job sites, act as a liaison with project teams, consultants, and subcontractors to facilitate processes and maintain master project BIM databases.
  • Collaborate with the scheduling department to build and maintain 4D scheduling models.
Requirements
  • Engineering degree or equivalent combinations of technical training and experience/knowledge of civil construction practice.
  • Proficiency with model federation platforms such as Assemble Systems, Navisworks, and Bentley Navigator.
  • Proficiency in BIM authoring tools such as Revit, AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Proficiency in 4D platforms such as Navisworks Simulate and Synchro.
  • Proficiency in 5D QTO and cost assignment tools would be desirable.
  • Knowledge of Common Data Environments such as ProjectWise and Aconex.
  • Detailed understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, standards, and their impact on project activities.
  • Working knowledge of EHS regulations.
  • Experience across all stages of a project lifecycle would be desirable.
  • Experience of working within construction project environments would be desirable.
