BIM Coordinator Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled BIM Coordinator to join our team at Diamond Schmitt Architects in Toronto. As a BIM Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in shaping our design excellence by collaborating with our BIM team to improve project workflows, software adherence, and library content.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coach and mentor project teams in virtually constructing buildings using BIM software.
  • Assist in training and project workflows to ensure seamless collaboration.
  • Develop project-specific content libraries to enhance design efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the BIM team to improve our current Revit template.
  • Ensure adherence to project BIM Execution Plans and workflows.
  • Manage project models to maintain a healthy BIM database.
  • Conduct clash detection and conflict resolution to ensure design integrity.
  • Extract model data for CoBie and dRofus to facilitate data management.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 2-year College diploma or University degree from a recognized architectural program.
  • 2 years of progressive work experience in an architectural office or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent working knowledge of REVIT and BIM software.
  • Ability to read 2D working drawings and understand building components.
  • Multitasking and project management skills to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with diverse project teams.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and BIM visual programming platforms like Dynamo.
  • Programming background is an asset, but not a requirement.
