Job Title: Faculty HR Advisor
We are seeking an experienced Faculty HR Advisor to join our team at the University of British Columbia. As a key member of our Human Resources department, you will be responsible for providing expert advice and support to faculty members, administrators, and departments across the university.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide guidance on human resources policies, procedures, and collective agreements;
- Assist with faculty recruitment, appointment, and promotion processes;
- Analyze and interpret data from various sources to inform decision-making and strategic planning;
- Develop and deliver training programs to enhance knowledge and skills related to human resources and equity, diversity, and inclusion;
- Collaborate with other units and stakeholders to implement new HR business processes and improve existing ones;
- Support the development and maintenance of effective communication channels and reporting systems;
- Engage with faculty members, administrators, and staff to understand their needs and concerns, and provide tailored solutions and recommendations;
- Work independently and as part of a team to achieve goals and objectives;
- Maintain accurate records and reports, and ensure compliance with relevant policies and procedures;
Requirements:
- Undergraduate degree in a relevant field (e.g., human resources, business administration, law);
- Minimum 3 years of experience in human resources, preferably in a higher education or health care setting;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex information and make informed decisions;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Workday software;
- A commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion, and a willingness to continuously learn and develop skills in these areas;
- A strong understanding of Canadian labor laws and regulations, as well as collective bargaining agreements and workplace policies;
Salary Range:
$85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience.
