About the Position:

This is a key role in providing service-oriented advising, instructions, and guidance to prospective and current students, internal staff, or external parties in registrarial matters related to the incumbent's specialized field.

The successful candidate will maintain current knowledge of College registrarial procedures or policies, legislative changes, educational trends, and practices in Canada and internationally to provide current and accurate information and advice to current and prospective students.

The Residential Education Advisor relies on in-depth knowledge and broad knowledge of other RES units to impart guidance to junior team members in matters of systems, guidelines, or unique circumstances requiring exceptional decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provides high-quality advising services to students, including academic, personal, and career development guidance.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of College policies, procedures, and legislation affecting student affairs.
  • Develops and delivers training programs for students, staff, and faculty on various topics related to student life and academics.
  • Collaborates with other departments to promote campus engagement and community building initiatives.
  • Supports the development and implementation of strategic plans to enhance student experience and satisfaction.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., education, counseling, social work).
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in student affairs, academic advising, or a related field.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Familiarity with integrated student record systems and post-secondary policy and procedures.

Compensation:

Estimated salary range: $65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
