About the Opportunity

The Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Operating Room Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our perioperative nursing team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our operating rooms, providing exceptional patient care, and supporting the coordination of surgical services.

As a Supervisor, you will be responsible for leading a team of nursing and support staff, creating and maintaining staff schedules, and addressing challenges to achieve high-quality, safe, efficient, and cost-effective services. You will work closely with other departments within the Health Authority to ensure efficient and safe operation of the unit.

We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in perioperative nursing, leadership experience, and excellent communication and conflict management skills. If you have a passion for delivering exceptional patient care and leading a team, we encourage you to apply.

About You
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree is required
  • Current registration with the Nova Scotia College of Nursing (NSCN)
  • Perioperative Nursing Program (PONP), or equivalent
  • Five years of experience working in a perioperative environment with at least two years in a leadership role
  • Proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to utilize health information systems for decision support
  • Experience with orthopedic, general surgery, vascular, plastic, cardiac, and neuro surgery services is an asset
  • Experience with staff scheduling is an asset
  • Demonstrated excellent communication and conflict management skills required
  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities with the perioperative environment
  • Demonstrated competence in coaching and mentoring others in achieving optimal performance
  • Competencies in other languages preferred, French an asset
Hours
  • Full-time Long Assignment; 75 hours bi-weekly
  • Anticipated end date of October 25
Compensation and Incentives

$40.15 - $53.35 Hourly
