Pediatric Operating Room Anesthesia Technician

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Anesthesia Technician to join our Pediatric Perioperative Program at IWK Health Centre. The successful candidate will provide technical assistance to Anesthetists in the pediatric operating room, ensuring the smooth operation of anesthesia equipment and supplies.
Responsibilities:
* Provide technical assistance to Anesthetists in the pediatric operating room
* Ensure anesthesia equipment and supplies are functional and available for each procedure
* Maintain adequate supplies, drugs, and equipment in the pediatric operating room
* Provide technical assistance for anesthesia equipment and supplies
Requirements:
* High school diploma or G.E.D required
* Successful completion of a recognized one-year training program in Anesthesia Technology required
* Minimum of two (2) years relevant perioperative experience preferred
* Current successful completion of a Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada Basic Life Support Level (BLS) Program within the last 12 months, or successful completion of a BLS Renewal Challenge Certificate, required
* Understands and demonstrates a commitment to Family Centred Care and workplace diversity
* Able to maintain confidentiality in patient, family and employee information
* Maintains high ethical standards, integrity, and attention to detail
* Demonstrates collaboration and cooperative decision-making when working with a team
* Competencies in other languages an asset
