About the Role


  • As a Clinical Healthcare Specialist, you will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality healthcare services to clients in a correctional facility.
  • You will assess client needs, develop individualized care plans, and implement evidence-based interventions to promote optimal health outcomes.
  • Your expertise will include providing emotional support, conducting assessments, and performing various nursing procedures as directed.
  • You will also contribute to the development and modification of care plans, monitor client progress, and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions.
  • In addition, you will maintain accurate and up-to-date records, communicate effectively with colleagues, and adhere to established policies and procedures.


Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must possess:




  • A recognized diploma or degree in Practical Nursing, plus 1 year of experience working with offenders and/or in secure health care settings, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Current full practicing licensure with the British Columbia College of Nurses & Midwives (BCCNM).
  • Occupational First Aid Level 2 certification (OFA Level 3 certification for positions at the Ford Mountain Correctional Centre).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
  • A commitment to delivering culturally safe care and promoting Indigenous Cultural Safety.
  • A willingness to learn and participate in ongoing professional development opportunities.
