Job Summary

Actionmarguerite is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Dietary Assistant to join our team. As a Dietary Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of our residents by providing exceptional food service and nutrition support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation and serving of meals, ensuring that all food is prepared and presented to a high standard.
  • Maintain a clean and safe food service environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
  • Assist with inventory management, ordering supplies, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Provide excellent customer service to residents, responding to their dietary needs and preferences.
  • Collaborate with the dietary team to plan and implement special diets and menus.
  • Participate in ongoing training and education to enhance knowledge and skills in food service and nutrition.

Requirements

  • Minimum Grade 12 education or equivalent.
  • Dietetic Aide Certificate or willingness to obtain.
  • Valid Food Handling certificate.
  • Experience in food service, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both official languages (French and English).
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work with residents and staff.
  • Current Criminal Record Check for the Vulnerable Sector and Adult Abuse Registry check deemed satisfactory by the Employer.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with cleaning chemicals and operation of food preparation equipment.
  • Experience with cash register operations for cafeteria functions.
  • Knowledge of food sanitation and safety, quantity food preparation, and mathematics.
