CNIB Deafblind Community Services is a leading provider of specialized support and emergency services for individuals who are Deafblind. We are committed to maximizing their independence and engagement with the world around them.

As a Specialist, Intervenor with our organization, you will play a critical role in facilitating access to information, communication, and environmental awareness for individuals who are Deafblind. Your duties will include providing one-on-one service and support, facilitating interaction between the individual and their environment, and empowering each person to actively participate in their community.

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess strong communication skills, be knowledgeable about Deafblindness, Deaf/Deafblind culture, and common associated health-related concerns, as well as be self-motivated and flexible with the ability to multi-task.

The ideal candidate will have a diploma or degree in the human services field, experience working with individuals who are Deafblind, and knowledge of alternate formats of communication such as Two-Hand Manual, American Sign Language, and Braille.

In addition to a competitive salary of $27.71/hour, we offer a range of benefits including paid annual vacations, paid sick days, pension plan, healthcare coverage, and employee and family assistant program (EFAP).
