Simulation-Based Education Specialist

Cape Breton University is seeking a highly skilled Simulation-Based Education Specialist to join our team at the Cape Breton Medical Campus. As a key member of our faculty, you will play a crucial role in developing, implementing, and evaluating simulation-based curriculum for medical learners.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop effective simulation scenarios and manage the curriculum, ensuring the integration of best practices and evidence-based methodologies.
- Oversee the Volunteer Patient Program, recruiting and training simulated participants, and manage all aspects of simulation-based education, including resources and scheduling.
- Collaborate with faculty to align learning objectives with innovative instructional methods, and manage curriculum development, overseeing simulated patient materials, and ensuring ethical and safety standards are met.
- Handle project management tasks, including resource allocation, scheduling, and the administration of curricular events.
- Recruit volunteers, establish performance expectations, and contribute to simulation-based research and policy development.
- Hold an undergraduate degree in a health professional field; a graduate degree in adult education or curriculum development is preferred.
- At least 7 years of experience in health/medical fields with project management and educational programming expertise.
- Proven knowledge in simulation-based learning, strong communication and project management skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility in working hours and a commitment to ongoing professional development in simulation methodology.
